Keep in mind as you read this that we are messing with malaria- and LOTS of other diseases - in the microbiology labs...

The following message is sent on behalf of Johns Hopkins Health, Safety and Environment:
There was a recent incident at JHSPH in which a staff member suffered an adverse respiratory reaction when someone transporting chemicals got on the passenger elevator she was riding.
We would like to remind laboratory staff that chemicals should only be transported on freight elevators. All containers must be closed and should be placed in secondary containers (e.g. plastic tubs) to contain spills in case of breakage. Those transporting the materials should have absorbents with them in case of a spill.
If your job requires access to the JHSPH freight elevators, please contact So-and-So (-sm) in Support Services for assistance.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Ah, the fun never ends.
